4 Days from Casablanca to Marrakech
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes
The road to Fes via the capital Rabat, takes us along a beautiful stretch of farmland where olives, grain, vegetables and grapes are grown. Before arriving in Fes over from the Empire’s southern-most outpost. Meknes is the site of the first Arab dynasty, created by the horse stables and granaries. Upstairs is a rooftop garden and cafe with a great view of the city and afther driving to fes night in the hotel
Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga camel trekking night in desert camp,
We will pick you up from your riad / hotel then drive south to Ifrane and Azrou through the Middle Atlas mountains. On the way we will stop at the cedar forests to see the Barbarian Apes in their natural habitat. Travelling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau and the scenery changing to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia. After lunch we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. After a glass of mint tea, we’ll leave our luggage in a safe room then take a camel ride to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi Sad Dunes which are the highest sand dunes in North Africa. The camel trek takes about 1hr 30 min from to the camp where we will set up Berber tents for our night in the desert. The tents are well equipped with mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner we will gather around the fire and enjoy the sound of traditional Berber drums under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades valley .
If we wake up early enough, we can watch the spectacle of sunrise, when the colour of the dunes combine with the play of shadows to make an awesome sight. After breakfast we ride the camels for a couple of hours (or less; it is up to you) before leaving for Tinghir and Todra Gorges for lunch. The road passes through Tinejdad and the Todra Valley. This stunning area affords plenty of opportunities to walk, such as along the river through the gardens or up the road on the other side of the gorge. Later, we will continue to the Dades Valley and the Dades Gorges before spending the night in a hotel.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech.
After breakfast, we will drive through the villages of this charming area,. passing fields cultivated by the Berber women,. with the peaks of the High Atlas as a fitting backdrop. Our journey will then continue toward Ouarzazate,. along the Valley of the Roses,. famous for its Rose Festival in May, and past the Kasbahs of Skoura oasis. then to Ouarzazate,. known as Hollywood of Morocco, we will visit the cinematographic museum, Than the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a World Heritage site and the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters, this is the most famous kasbah in Morocco. From here start crossing the highest pass in Africa, Tizi n’Tichka, was controlled. At late afternoon we will arrive in Marrakech.
